Projects in the discussion/planning stage.  These are scenarios that we've done in the past or ideas we've had:

Haunted Cave. -  simulated walk-through cave with scary stuff hanging from above

.                                  "windows" with scary monsters outside, lighted when victim is passing inside.

                                    Personnel needed:  scary monsters, guide/attendant

Graveyard of Hell - semi-realistic gravestones, ( Styrofoam on a wood stake works well )

                                        simulated grave digging activity

simulated bones or body parts, i.e.. hand, protruding from ground

Swooping Ghostly effects - Incredibly frightening spirits swoop and cavort by unseen wires, I mean magical powers

                                                      Personnel needed:  riggers, rope pullers

Glowering Beasts and Menacing Monsters - various scary beings menace or startle passing victim guests.

                                        beasts, skeletons, monsters, etc.

these can be people in costume or constructed, ie. paper Mache'

                              Personnel needed: monsters, beastmasters

Witch's Lair - spooky sounds and eerie lights emanate from the depths of the witch's abode.

Brave victim guests may approach for trick-or-treats

Personnel needed: Witch, possibly witch victims, guide/attendant.

Vampire Awakes - Vampire or Zombie awakens from inside simulated coffin, attempts to exit coffin,

is restrained and forced to resume reclined position, coffin lid "nailed" shut

coffin needs appropriate lighting, sound effects,

this scene would logically be in conjunction with Graveyard of Hell

Personnel needed:  Vampire or Zombie, two or more grave diggers -

Notes:  All scenarios listed, as well as other trail decorations will need help with making the props, ghosts, monsters, etc., putting up and taking down the scenarios, etc.  Also, many characters in almost any costume may participate as guide/monitors to watch the guest/victims and ensure their good behavior and safety.

Your ideas for scenarios are at least as good as these.

Please share them with us.

We need help implementing all of these projects.  If you'd like to be a part of a very fun experience, please contact us.

More Notes:

Participants should coordinate with Mr. Jonas or other PNS staff to visit the site and plan the exhibits in advance.

Placement and design of scenario props, etc. must comply with Sanctuary rules and common sense.  For example; No structural nailing into trees; Any cutting of limbs, brush, etc. must be approved in advance; No pits or holes in the ground; No fires, etc.

Decorations can be put up starting Friday morning, or earlier by prior arrangement, but must be in place no later than 6:00 pm on the day of the event, Friday, October 25.  All decorations must be removed by participants by the end of the following day.  Any decorations not promptly removed by owners will be considered contributions to Parkville Nature Sanctuary or trash.
