Projects Report |

We appreciate all of the support we receive in making the PNS a more enjoyable and accessible place. All improvement projects are done through volunteer efforts. Local Scout troops, civic groups, clubs, schools, and individuals are invited to be part of developing and maintaining this wonderful natural area, the following are some specific areas in which you might help: We still have erosion control projects available similar to those described on page one of the Summer Issue. These projects are planned for crews of 8 to 10 people (or more) and require 6 to 8 hours of labor, plus planning and preparation. The butterfly garden, located in the meadow, is in need of regular care. A perfect project for a Garden Club or individual with a green thumb. More sets of steps are needed around curves on the hillside of the south WACCA trail. This project requires constructing with stone and/or timbers, i.e. railroad ties. Great Eagle Scout Projects. We have a community work day each month to maintain the sanctuary. These workdays are 9 a.m.-noon on the second Saturday of each month. Let us know that you are interested and we will call you with details of each project in advance. For specific information on any of these projects, or one you may have in mind, call Director Jim Reed at 741-0820. |
