DEER POPULATION: Mr. Turner said he and Public Works Director Jeff Rupp would meet with the Missouri Department of Conservation and a representative of Park University Monday, July 19th, at 10 a.m., to discuss the issue.

Mr. McCoy asked him to question the MoDOC people about whether killing a few deer would help with the problem. Mr. Turner said he would do that and invited other aldermen to e-mail him with any questions they have on the subject. He said at the next meeting he would ask the aldermen to set up a day and time for a public hearing on the advisability of and procedure for a deer kill.

AUTOMATED TRAIN HORNS: Mr. Turner said and Mr. Rupp arranged a demonstration.

A:\min work session 7-13-04GRINDER PUMP FAILURE AT MAYOR'S HOME: Mayor Dusenbery said last fall there was a major grinder pump breakdown at her home. All the carpeting was affected. Such repairs are paid for from a fund paid into by homeowners with grinder pump systems, i.e., Riss Lake residents. The repairs to her home will be substantial, and she wanted aldermen to be aware that this will be on the next bill-paying ordinance.

GRINDER PUMP REPLACEMENT: Mr. Atkinson asked when we would start replacing them instead of repairing. Mayor Dusenbery said the problem is you never know when one, new or old, might fail.
