The community of Parkville is located approximately 15 miles northwest of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. English Landing Park, the largest park in the City's relatively young park system, is nestled between the overlooking hills with it's downtown historic district and the Mighty Missouri River. The venue of walking trails that parallel the river and the railroad corridor are a scenic treasure like no other in the Kansas City area. The City host many festivals through out the year for families to enjoy in this historic setting. Just a short distance from the downtown area, the Parkville Nature Sanctuary offers nature trails that are hidden below the dam of Riss Lake. An enlightening area of 40 acres, these trails are for those who beckon for solitude in the backwoods, but in actuality are just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of big city life.
Parkville welcomes you to come and enjoy the vast array of our city parks and recreation opportunities offered in our historic scenic city. Click on our individual park tabs for amenities that are available at each park.
