City Collector/Administrative Assistant

The City of Parkville is looking to hire a City Collector/Administrative Assistant. This full-time position is responsible for City receivables, financial reporting, business licenses, and online content. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are a must. A high school diploma and at least four years of education and/or experience is required.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for billing and collection of City invoices and fees.
  • Oversees and issues business licenses.
  • Publishes content to the City’s website and social media accounts.
  • Seeks out grant opportunities and assists the preparation of applications with City staff.
  • Reconciles the City’s bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares the monthly financial reports for the Board of Aldermen.
  • Assists the City Treasurer and Auditor in preparing the annual financial audit.
  • Assists other staff as needed.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education & Experience
    • Four years of combined education and experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office--particularly Word, Excel, and Access.
    • Must have a knowledge of basic accounting principles.
    • Must be able to work cooperatively with staff.
    • Knowledge of Incode accounting software is a plus.

Compensation
  • Salary DOQ.
  • City offers health, dental, and life insurance, as well as retirement through LAGERS.
